Activate Puna is a community revitalization and creative placemaking initiative dedicated to restoring community spirit and boosting the local economy in the wake of the 2018 Kīlauea eruption.

Since its launch, Activate Puna has hosted three highly successful town parties, bringing residents and visitors together in the heart of Downtown Pāhoa for an unforgettable evening of art, food, music, and dance. These events serve as a powerful catalyst for connection, celebrating the resilience, culture, and creativity of Lower Puna. 

On May 3rd, the activation at Hale Hālāwai O Puna (formlery Akebono Theater) will feature performances by Uncle's Awa Band, The Project featuring Damon Williams, The Drew Daniels Band, Positive Motion, and Kanaka Fyah.  A variety of food trucks will be on-site. Attendees 21+ with valid ID can enjoy the beer garden.

No re-entry. Doors close at 9PM. Keiki 12 and under are free.

All proceeds benefit the Pāhoa Lava Zone Museum, supporting community projects in the Lower Puna, including future town parties at Hale Hālāwai, and academic scholarships for Pāhoa school graduates.

Braddahoodz: This band is all about community and connection. Known for their infectious energy and soulful melodies, Braddahoodz mixes elements of reggae, rock, and soul. Their performances promise a high-energy experience that keeps the audience dancing and engaged from start to finish.

Venue - Naniloa Crown Room: Situated in a beautiful location, the Naniloa Crown Room offers a perfect setting for live performances, combining great acoustics with an intimate atmosphere. As an iconic venue, it’s known for hosting a variety of musical acts and providing attendees with an unforgettable experience.
